Forward Protocol on the Metaverse

Thirty minutes in, they still have the same confused look on their face as when you began your explanation. Then they throw out their arms in exasperation and say, “Ah! I just don’t get it. I’ll just learn to live without it!” You know it’s the frustration talking, but you’ve done your best too, and you can’t do much more to make them understand it.

We’ve all been in this situation at least once, but this time, you’re not teaching your uncle to order food online. It’s your friend, and you’re struggling to explain the metaverse and how it operates on the blockchain to them.

Who can blame them? It’s a lot of ground for anyone to cover — Boomer or Gen Z.

Traditionally, technological advancements occur in intermittent spurts of rapid developments and long periods of lulls. However, these days, you only need to turn off your phone long enough to make a sandwich, and you are a dinosaur — a relic of the WWW Internet era.

Admittedly, these innovations don’t happen that fast, even in the crypto space, but you understand the need to exaggerate for emphasis. These days, the attention of the blockchain space has shifted to the concept of the metaverse. Let’s start there.

What is the Metaverse?

The idea of the metaverse has existed in pop culture for a long time, with the parameters of each metaverse dependent on the writers’ and producers’ imagination. A more concrete concept of the metaverse has begun to form, even though that too is still very fluid.

Thus far, we are already sure that the metaverse is a virtual world that exists on the blockchain, where activities have real-world implications. The innovation is still in its infancy, and it could grow in any or a variety of directions. However, NFTs and cryptocurrencies have featured heavily in the metaverse, and the trend is certain to continue.

Metaverse projects such as Decntraland, Enjin, The Sandbox, Bloktopia, etc., have enjoyed huge success. Technology giants such as Microsoft, Facebook, and Samsung have also begun to explore the metaverse and the business opportunities it offers. These recognizable names throwing their hats into the ring for a piece of the metaverse pie has helped the innovation gain more popularity and credibility.

However, it also becomes yet another blockchain innovation that new blockchain users must learn before interacting with the opportunities that exist in the decentralized space.

What Does Forward Protocol Do?

Forward Protocol makes blockchain technology, including the metaverse, easy to use and understand for all classes of users. It uses a suite of smart contracts, products, and services available through Forward Factory.

Forward Pay

Forward Pay is the digital wallet application of Forward Protocol. The digital wallet is an integral part of the metaverse experience, which acts as an interface to the virtual space that operates with NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and other forms of digital assets.

Instead of using traditional long-form keys, Forward Pay uses Forward ID to send and receive digital assets easily. This user-optimized experience improves usability and adoption compared to using complex wallet addresses. It reduces the risk of losing digital assets to wrong wallet transfers, allows users to request/send payments, and aids accountability and transparency throughout the metaverse.

Forward Pay also includes a fiat ramp so that users can participate in decentralized virtual spaces and easily complete payments using their credit cards and bank accounts. A user can enter any metaverse integrated with Forward Protocol’s solution using Forward ID and pay for services using Forward Pay.

Forward ID

Forward ID gives users complete control over their data and the ability to share their personal information according to their discretion. Users can also use their Forward ID to automatically log in to any metaverse system that integrates Forward Protocol. The Forward ID is similar to Facebook and Google’s IDs that enable automatic connection to websites and services.

The Future of the Metaverse

The blockchain is relatively young, and the metaverse is even more novel than the technology it operates on. It is only a matter of time before we get a better picture of the metaverse, but the previews we have seen so far have looked out of this world!

Forward Protocol doesn’t compete with anyone. We collaborate with everyone. We make things simple, connect the traditional business world with blockchain using no-code toolkits, and make the metaverse easy to understand and use for every potential user, including your boomer uncle and your Gen Z friend.

We are here, we are moving forward, and we want you to come with us. Join our community on social media to interact with other Forwardians and get the latest project updates.
